BIO

Thanks for visiting my website.

Born in Salford, Manchester UK I enjoyed a wonderful barefoot, free-range childhood with lots of time spent sitting in a tree or on horseback. At 4 years old I fell in love with art and went on to study Graphic Design at Art College and then to University to study Information Graphics at Trent Polytechnic.

I started Roo Guthrie Art & Design in 1993 and painted prolifically until our beautiful kids came along. We spent a few years in Bali living within the Green School community in the jungle of Ubud learning about sustainable living, environmental protection, and activism and with a "green" education, we began to make some changes to our life to live more gently on this earth.

With a move to Byron Bay, Australia, the opportunity to live honestly and boldly has come along and with Byron's incredible climate, pristine beaches, rainforest, and open-minded community, creativity has flourished.

The bright colours of nature, its form and function arouses my mind and urges me to create and to bring awareness to the small actions we can all take every day to reduce our global footprint.

My art shows my love for the natural environment because if we all fall in love with it, we are more likely to want to protect it.

I'm a freelance graphic designer based in Byron Bay and available for illustration and design projects.

“It seems to me that the natural world is the greatest source of excitement; the greatest source of visual beauty; the greatest source of intellectual interest. It is the greatest source of so much in life that makes life worth living.”
